JI Ladies Golf Association

Golf on Great Jekyll Island Courses

Jekyll Island Ladies' Golf Association is open to all female golfers.  Members play every Tuesday on one of the three 18-hole golf courses with tee times starting at 9 am (October-May) and at 8:30 am (June-September).  Monthly hostesses select the game for each Tuesday and make the pairings, therefore we ask members to sign up before 5:00 pm Sunday if they wish to play.  Association members also compete in a number of tournaments including the "Queen Bee", Member/Member, Guys & Dolls, and the Ladies Club Championship.  At the end of March, members also have fun playing in the "Millionaires Cup" where the Red Rockefeller team & the Blue Goodyear team battle for the Cup in a Match Play format.

Visiting female golfers are welcome to play on Tuesday playdays as a guest of JILGA.  As a guest, they may play without paying association fees, but are ineligible for prizes.  Guest status is limited to four weeks.

Annual membership fee is $35 and includes the USGA handicap system fee.  Membership forms are available in the Pro Shop.

USGA Golf Handicap System

Like most club golf JILGA uses the USGA handicap system to ensure that differing levels of skills can play competitively with each other. For new members who have never had a handicap, they will be enrolled in the USGA system, and will create a starting one, based on the results of their first few weeks of play. Jekyll Island being a place of active recreation encourages those who want to walk while they play to do so. For those who wish to use a cart, they are available at the golf Center Clubhouse.
