Service above Self

The Rotary Club of Jekyll Island was chartered in 1984 and is dedicated to Rotary International's motto of "Service above Self." Club members and visiting Rotarians meet weekly at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel for breakfast. The one-hour meeting is focused on fellowship and a guest speaker. Jekyll Rotarians maintain a lending library at the Jekyll Club Hotel.  In addition to supporting Rotary International and Rotary District programs and sponsoring high school students for Rotary District 6920 summer leadership camp and Junior ROTC cadets for summer leadership training, the club participates in many community outreach activities.

Meetings and Membership

The Rotary Club meets at 7:30 am each Wednesday at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel.  Meetings are called to order at 8:00 am and conclude promptly at 9:00 am.  Quarterly dues include the cost of the weekly breakfast, District and National dues and subscription to the Rotarian magazine.  Associate Membership is available to seasonal residents who are members in good standing of other Rotary Clubs.  As a member of Rotary International the Jekyll Island club routinely recieves visiting Rotarians from all over the world.  Weekly meetings host a guest speaker who wiil talk on topics of interest for 15 - 20 minutes.
