Red Hats in the Sunset
Joy of the Wonderful Sunset Years
This group is a "disorganization " of women who want to celebrate
their life experiences and the joys of being in their wonderful sunset years.
While there are no "rules," there are many strong suggestions for the group,
such as wearing a red hat with a clashing purple outfit. (Lavender outfits and
pink hats for those under 50.) Two hostesses assist the 2 Vice Queens, 2 Grande
Dames and a Queen Mum, with the hostesses choosing the place and means of having
fun.
Meetings and Membership
Members are mainly from Jekyll Island, but many are from elsewhere in the
Golden Isles.
Gatherings are usually held every two months.
