Jekyll Island Citizens Association

Organizations on Jekyll Island

There is an organization on Jekyll to fit almost anyone's interest. The four major organizations are the Jekyll Island Citizens Association, Friends of Historic Jekyll Island, Inc., the Jekyll Island Arts Association and the Jekyll Island Garden Club. Almost everyone who lives on the Island belongs to at least one of these groups, and many belong to all four. These organizations serve to inform Jekyll residents and visitors about life on Jekyll. These organizations provide the bulk of the volunteers that greatly improve the quality of life on the Island. Their fund-raising efforts have served to help preserve the island's history and improve the island's landscape.
But there are many, many more active organizations here. And each of these serves the above purposes in its own way. By clicking on one of the tabs associated with this page, you can find out more about these groups -- what they do, when they meet, contact persons, etc. Please note that some of these organizations have sub-groups. This is particularly true of the Arts Association, which has groups for weavers, potters, carvers, singers and needleworkers.
